First, I would like to thank my dedicated staff for all we have accomplished in 2024. Success doesn’t happen without commitment, unwavering dedication and hard work. And my staff comes through, time and again.

Celebrating Recognitions and Achievements

Lawyer of the Year Award

In early 2024, I had the honor of being named a 2023 Lawyer of the Year by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for my work representing the DelDeo family in the Provincetown Dune Shack case. It is an honor I cherish.

Martindale AV Preeminent Rating & Super Lawyer Recognition

This year marked the 29th consecutive year that I received a Martindale AV Preeminent Rating and the 11th consecutive year of being named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

Cape Cod’s Best Finalist

Our firm was honored to be named one of three finalists for the “Best Law Firm” category by Cape Cod’s Best voters. While we didn’t take home the award, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are grateful to everyone who cast their vote.

Advocating for Clients

In 2024, we successfully represented many clients injured due to the actions of others, securing over $1 million in settlements. We also successfully represented clients across various courts, including Massachusetts Superior Court, Probate and Family Court, and District Court. Our cases spanned:

  • Business disputes

  • Real estate disputes

  • Personal injury cases

  • Trust and estate disputes

  • Domestic relations

To all our clients who have entrusted us with their representation, thank you for your confidence in our firm.

Looking Ahead: Elder Fraud and Exploitation Cases

As we step into 2025, our firm will place an additional emphasis on cases involving elder fraud and elder exploitation—a growing concern often referred to as the “crime of the 21st century.” We are committed to protecting vulnerable individuals and holding perpetrators accountable.

Community Engagement and Leadership

Supporting District Attorney Rob Galibois

In 2024, I continued to serve as co-chair for the re-election campaign of Rob Galibois, District Attorney for the Cape and Islands. Rob and his team are doing an amazing job and have excelled in the area of community engagement.

Nonprofit Contributions

After a decade of service, I stepped down as Chair of the Cape Wellness Collaborative. Additionally, I rejoined the board of the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) after an 11-year absence. Our firm continues to act as counsel to so many non-profit organizations and continues to work with and support the many selfless folks that comprise our amazing non-profit safety net. We also continue to serve as General Counsel to many Cape and Islands private businesses.

New Faces at the Firm

We added attorney James Lucking to our staff and have recently welcomed new lawyer Ryan Linn. They join paralegals and consummate professionals Lauren Walsh and Deena Kane and superwoman office manager Nancy Bierhans. I cannot thank them all enough. Nancy and I formed our law firm 27 years ago and, as all businesses, we have faced our challenges and struggles. But, with the commitment and support of our clients and community, we continue the good fight, and we endure.

Honoring the Legal System

In December, I was honored to argue before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for the second time. Decision to follow in 2025.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the law. And as any lawyer will tell you, we can’t do what we do without the assistance of judges, court clerks and personnel. Our trial judges and court personnel are the backbone of our system, and nothing happens without them. Thank you!

Onward to 2025

Thank you to everyone who made 2024 a remarkable year. Here’s to continued success, meaningful advocacy, and community engagement in 2025 and beyond!
